Normally 12 and 24 V DC (direct current) thrusters are operated with an on/off switch in
the form of a push button or joystick control. For the bow thruster this actually means 3
positions. Full power to port – off – full power to starboard.
To run the bow thruster with a variable speed, a separate control and control
unit is required, extra at the bow thruster
